Just thought I'd post this, I know Marv & @ngel are on wireless and suffer at times with the ping like I do. I tried this:

And followed the "Frequent wireless disconnections on Windows XP" instructions/ troubleshooting..... by doing this it has dramatically lowered my ping (or at least it would appear to have) - from 40-50 and shooting ping (up to 500) to just a ping of 9-10 on a not to busy server - worth a try eh

(unsure as yet if it has sorted my occasional "shooting" ping of 500s - that may be another problem

I will have to wait and see................ )
