Problem with Zoe's PC,
Switched it on the other day, it booted up fine - but after about 2 seconds it re started itself constantly. tried various things (safe mode etcetc)- still did it. Sooooo I re installed windows (XP).
once this was done, and windows worked again, a message come up with ' windows could not load MEDIA' something like that anyway.... then it said, it could not find the drivers for 'multimedia controller ' (whatever that does) - then came up with 'ACPI multiprocessor Pc' ................
So far, I have disabled the onboard sound card, this appeared to solve the problem, but - obviously no sounds!! so Dogz gave me a sound card to try......
Problem was back there again - well sort of - in device manager - it was showing 'multimedia controller' with a yellow exclamation mark - and still no sound.
Any ideas? mother board ? sound card?
