Installing Custom Maps

INSTALLING CUSTOM MAPS
Custom maps are usually .pk3 files. Some sites will be set for you to download a .zip file which contains the .pk3 file inside such as this site. Other sites may have you download the .pk3 file directly. Pk3 and zip file are compressed files, meaning that they hold multiple files inside (a custom map is made up of multiple files, and therfore, compressed in a .pk3 for the game to read and load).
Downloading Maps...
When downloading from any site, use caution because sometimes the file being downloaded is only .pk3 file and not a zip and in other cases, the zip file does not have a .pk3 file enclosed in the .zip
Downloading .pk3 files directly
With Windows XP, I have noticed that when I download a .pk3 File, the extension is automatically set to .zip instead of .pk3, and other times I have noticed that .zip was added to the end of the file. Even though the file you want to download may be something like mohmap1.pk3, you may end up with mohmap1.zip or mohmap1.pk3.zip

Therefore, before you unzip anything with a .zip extension, check the contents first! If there is a .pk3 file inside, you can unzip the file to get to the .pk3 file, and copy it to your mohaa/main folder. However, if you see the contents has a maps folder, and possibly several other files, do not unzip this file but use the instruction below.

Downloading map files.
If you have downloaded a .zip file that contains a map folder, and possibly other files, you do not want to unzip this file to distribute all of the contents manually. Usually, the contents from map builders are all there in the .zip already. It is possible that this was originally a .pk3 file that got renamed. I suggest that you rename this .zip file to a .pk3 file. For example, if the file name is mohmap1.zip, just rename it to mohmap1.pk3 if it has the map folder and other files in it (no .pk3 is enclosed).

Now open the hard drive on your PC where Medal of Honour is installed

Usually C:

Open C & find your Program Files folder, open this & look for EA Games

Inside EA Games ypu should find

Open Main

Copy your downloaded map .pk3 file & paste it here

(Breakthrough users may also need to copy the file to maintt - this is rare but a few maps/mods/skins sometimes don't work unless in maintt)
