French teacher treated like scum

A French teacher recently spent two days at the police station for slapping a pupil and was convicted for "violence on an under 18 kid".....

Having previously been called a "f***ing idi*t" by his pupil, the teacher failed to control himself and slapped him. It happens that the boy's dad was a policeman and I suppose wanted that teacher be hung in the next minute..
The teacher was taken away by the police and will certainly be removed from the school.

Now my question is: how many days in prison for parents for failing their offspring's education?
