Coming to terms......

Got the new lug-plugs on Friday, and I'm now of the mind that it's going to take quite a time to get used to them.

The benefits are manifold, walking up town yesterday morning I could hear all the little birds singing, and what a delight but also was transfixed at the volume and range of the traffic noise

Around the house I could hear things I forgot existed...... the clocks actually tick, what a cacophony and when I did the washing up I was trying to find the volume control to turn the noise of the water flowing down. Every time I move the noise of my clothes rustling was almost unbearable. Yes the volume control is at minimum!

In the server last night, I spent a few minutes before going in to adjust the volume of the game and the aids to somewhere near comfortable but found it wasn't so much the actual volume, more the number of different noises there were, some I can never remember hearing before. Confusion reigned! I heard people walking, weapons reloading and general movement. Too much audible information......
I will get used to it all, but I'm gonna have to be patient.

All in all I'm really grateful for them, I sat and watched TV last night using the TV speakers for the first time in many months, and NO tinnitus was apparent, and I actually heard speech
