Ok the time is getting nearer. My monitor is finaly giving in, its lasted months longer than what I thought it would. Keep getting screen dimming and the occasional red/green blur.

I want to replace it with probably one of the Dell 19" CRT M99? from ebay.

But I am worried about the specs. My Current screen can go up to 2048x1536, but I do use 1280x1024@85hz.
From what I can see most 19" say there max res is 1600x1200, does this mean that the general quality won't be as good as it cant go as high? (Bearing in mind I use it mainly for Gaming, with quality set as high as poss) Or can I just go to 2048 because of the GFX card is forcing it there?

So basically what Im realy asking is what do I look for in a gaming monitor.
