My desktop no longer allows me to display web pages, IE or firefox. It stopped working after upgrading fire fox to latest version. I have run system restore, back to last week, i have installed firefox. Fresh instal of fire fox but still no joy. Spent an hour on the phone to BT it people with no success they think my router is at fault, despite me telling them i have plugged the laptop into the same router via the same cable and disabled the wire less card. The laptop works fine hard wired or wireless.

1. When i try to repair connection it tells me it can't clear the DNS cache??
2. When i diagnose the connection problem it says connections fine.
3. Whats most bizarre is i can connect to MSN Msnger and chat to friends, just no web pages, like hotmail or google?

i have tried "Run" and "CMD" to flush DNS but it won't let me.laptop for normal surfing but all my games are on the desktop.

Anyone any ideas? i have done all the normal power down and cable checks i can ping sites but no display??
