New iMacs sport 802.11n capabilities
Apple's new line of Intel Core 2 Duo-based iMacs, introduced earlier this month, are the first Macs to sport AirPort cards capable of supporting a draft specification of the 802.11n wireless standard, which supports connection speeds of up to 540Mbps, or a 10-fold increase compared to existing 802.11g networks.
While Apple has the 802.11n functionality of the AirPort card disabled in Mac OS X, Service Source documents reveal the AirPort card in the new iMacs is powered by a Broadcom BCM4321-series system/chip (
