Griffin Technologies who are highly regarded for their quality third party accessories for the iPod have recently released an application for PC + Mac which enables Internet Radio to be recorded directly to your iPod.
I was skeptical at first, but downloaded the 7 day trial version and am pleasantly impressed!
All you do is open
iFill(the application) connect your iPod to your computer and then choose what radio station you would like to record onto your iPod choose from hundreds of various stations globally playing a vast range of genres.
Without pulling the app apart and delving too deeply the only thing I can find wrong with it at the moment is there are no Main Stream UK Radio stations in the listings, such as Radio 1, Radio 2, Virgin Radio etc.
I plugged the iPod into the laptop this morning and whilst it was charging I left it recording some 80's Music station... forgot all about it to be honest.. went back ejected the iPod and there is was 5 hours of 80's Music!! LOL quality was spot on, no buffering issues whilst streaming, iFill also separates the songs for you so you can skip the odd duff song.
Also those of you who prefer not to use iTunes need not worry as iFill has nothing to do with iTunes it doesn't even launch it.
All in all very impressed, you can download the trial version
HERE
Before downloading you will be asked for your e-mail address in order to send you the trial Serial Key... Any paranoid types out there shouldn't have anything to worry about Griffin are a good reputable Company, if you are that concerned about giving out your e-mail addy, use a hotmail or spare account.
To buy iFill its a simple case of buying a Serial Key I believe, $19.99 (?12) and I think after playing with it a little more I will kindly hand over ?12 for a cracking little program!
