All I can say is WOW! You REALLY need to see this.... http://local.live.com/
I know it only runs in IE, but holy Mother, it leaves Google earth way behind. It is quick, clear and precise. In google Earth all I can see of my area is a blurred green landscape, in Live Local I can very almost see the windows of my house!! (see piccies below)
