eBuyer recently had this mono laser on offer for ?50. It occurred to me that the majority of my printing needs could happily be served in black and white so I thought I'd give it a punt.
I'm most impressed. It's no bigger than a home inkjet although it stands a little taller. In use, it takes a few seconds to prepare and start printing. Then it whirrs a bit while the printing is going on, however it's free of all the strange clunks and whizzes that you get from most inkjets.
The toner cartridge that comes with the machine is supposed to give 3000 pages. Compare that to the number of ink cartridges that you'd have to buy for the same result and the difference is staggering.
Overall, I'm a convert. Can't wait for colour lasers to come down in price a bit..
